Samsung not only announced "Note 4" but also showed another version of the Note called "Note Edge" with a curved display at the right hand side.
Firstly the Note Edge has the same specs as the "Note 4", it has the same metallic design, the same soft-touch back cover, same 16-megapixel camera, heart-rate monitor, processor, memory, software, Multi-Window feature (two apps split screen) and also a high-end powerful device with the same QHD display of 2560 x 1440 pixels although it is 0.1 inch smaller at 5.6 inches.
The curved part of the display's default usage is as a quick launcher with easy access to a bunch of your most-used applications. There are also number of widgets which let you go through news or tweets and other information. All these works without the need of interrupting the main screen. Other use of the edge is it's acting as a toolbar, offering easy access to menus or camera modes and other application settings. it can also be an alarm at night by displaying the time on the side of the phone so you can see it without touching the device.
