iPhone 6 and 6 plus
Apple has finally unveiled their most anticipated device in two different versions this year. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus. The two models have different measurements as well as different displays. The "iPhone 6" measures 138.1 x 67 x 6.9 mm and this time has a 4.7 inches Retina display with 1,334x750 pixels resolution (326ppi) while the "iPhone 6 plus" measures 158.1x77.8x7.1 mm and has a 5.5 inches Retina display with 1080x1920 pixels resolution (401ppi).
Both devices have an 8 mega-pixel camera sensor with dual-LED flash and 1.2 mega-pixel front facing camera as well as the same 64-bit Apple A8 processor which according to Apple boasts 50 percent faster graphics and a 25 percent faster CPU. The cpu is a dual-core clocked at 1.2 GHz. Also the new devices will run the latest operating system iOS 8 and both devices support NFC, something we see on other devices for a quite long time now.
The iPhone 6 has digital image stabilization, but if you want the optical image stabilization that many more premium phones are incorporating, you'll need to upgrade to the iPhone 6 Plus.
On the video site you'll be capturing 1080p HD video at either 30 or 60fps, with slow motion coming in at 120 or 240fps. Continuous autofocus while you're shooting video means that the camera will adjust as the subjects move around -- or as you do. You can shoot video in HDR mode as well.
The iPhone 6 will come with 1GB of RAM while the 6 plus with 2GB of RAM, both devices will be available in 16/64/128 GB of internal storage and not an external micro SD card slot.
No battery specification are yet given by Apple as they never get used to it.
Availability and prices
The iPhone 6 (and its 6 Plus sibling) will launch in eight countries on September 19, with pre-orders beginning September 12: UK, US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, and Singapore.
In the US, the 16GB version will sell for $199 on contract, but $100 more will get you a whopping 64GB for $299. Another $100 on top of that supersizes your storage to 128GB for $399. AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, and US Cellular will be among the first US carriers to sell the two new iPhones. T-Mobile and other carriers have not yet announced the off-contract price.
In the UK, you'll be able to buy the iPhone 6 for £539 for the 16GB model (£449.17 excluding VAT), £619 for the 64GB model (£515.83 ex VAT), and £699 for the 128GB version (£582.50 ex VAT). Networks include O2, Vodafone, EE, Three, GiffGaff, Virgin, and TalkMobile.
Australians will pay AUD$869 for the 16GB model, AUD$999 for 64GB, and AUD$1,129 for the 128GB version through Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, and other carriers.
Apple Watch
Apple showed a smartwatch with their turn like all the other companies and they called it "Apple Watch" and will be available in early 2015 starting at $349 in the US (around £220).Apple's first wearable device will come in two sizes (38mm and 42mm) in three "collections," including a more durable Sport model and a high-end Apple Watch Edition, which is finished in 18K gold. Six different bands will be available, some in multiple color options.
All the watches have touch-screen displays and come equipped with a flexible Retina Display (with laminated crystal of sapphire), a "digital crown," along with infrared LEDs and photo diodes that take your pulse and "turn movement into data." Apple calls it a "comprehensive health and fitness device."
The watch runs on a brand-new S1 processor, is equipped with a gyro accelerometer and can piggyback off the Wi-Fi and GPS on your phone.
Like the iPhone 6, the Apple Watch has NFC and Apple was showing how the device could make mobile payments.
